In this course, you'll learn how your subconscious mind perceives architectural space through a deep exploration of knowledge from fields like behavioral and cognitive psychology, evolutionary psychology, architectural history, art and strategic design.
This course is an in-depth exploration of how the human mind perceives, processes, and responds to architectural space — often without us realizing it. Drawing from behavioral and cognitive psychology, evolutionary theory, architectural history, and environmental neuroscience, you’ll uncover what’s really happening beneath the surface when we move through space.
By the successful completion of this course, you'll be able to observe the world around you through a new lens, and design your own space (or that of your client's) in a way that’s aligned with your innermost emotional and psychological needs.
A fundamental understanding of our neurological response to aesthetics will redefine how make decisions and what we value. When your design decisions are backed by empirical evidence of what the behavioral effects will be, your work will shift from subjective preference to measurable impact.
